Calangute Police took swift action after a video showing passengers performing a dangerous stunt on a moving vehicle went viral on social media. Following the clip’s circulation, police personnel from Calangute Police Station traced and intercepted the vehicle involved. Legal action was initiated against the driver for rash and unsafe driving under relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Officials said the action was taken promptly to address the risk posed to public safety and to discourage such reckless behaviour on busy roads. A detailed report has been prepared and forwarded to the Judicial Magistrate First Class Court, Mapusa, for further proceedings. Police reiterated that strict action will be taken against those endangering lives through irresponsible acts shared online.
