Goa is set to add a major religious and tourism landmark with the development of a Ghat Aarti at Gokul Ashtami, Narve, marking a significant boost to spiritual tourism in the state.
The project aims to create a riverfront spiritual experience on the lines of renowned pilgrimage destinations such as Haridwar, Varanasi and Nashik. Once completed, the Ghat Aarti is expected to attract devotees, pilgrims and tourists, offering a unique blend of faith, culture and scenic beauty.

Officials said the work order for the project has already been issued, and construction is scheduled to be completed by May 29, 2026. The initiative is expected to enhance Narve’s religious significance while also creating new opportunities for tourism and local economic growth.
