Madel-Tivim villagers oppose use of ancestral road for housing project

Residents of Madel-Tivim have voiced strong opposition to the use of their ancestral road for a proposed mega housing project. Locals say the narrow road, barely 2.5 metres wide, has traditionally served village households and cannot handle heavy construction traffic. Villagers gathered at the site to highlight concerns over safety, heritage, and long-term damage. Former MLA Kiran Kankolkar, who joined the residents, stated that routing project access through the ancestral road was unacceptable and assured that a formal representation would be submitted to the TCP Department on behalf of the villagers.
