Sanvordem Villagers Oppose Rs 280-Crore Bandara Project, Warn of Massive Andolan and Indefinite Anshan

Residents of Mirabag and surrounding areas in Sanvordem on Wednesday gathered at the proposed site of the Bandara project and strongly opposed the Rs 280-crore development.

Villagers raised slogans against the project and voiced serious concerns over its potential impact on their lives, environment and livelihoods. They warned the Government of Goa that if the Bandara project is forced upon them without their consent, they will launch a massive agitation.

Protesters also threatened to resort to an indefinite anshan (hunger strike) as a mark of resistance, stating that they are determined to protect their land and interests.

Locals demanded that the government immediately halt the project and initiate consultations with residents before taking any further steps.

The protest reflects growing opposition to the proposed Bandara, with villagers asserting that development should not come at the cost of displacement and loss of community resources.
