The North Goa District Magistrate has issued an order prohibiting the use of fireworks, sparklers and indoor pyrotechnics inside hotels, resorts, bars, nightclubs, beach shacks and event venues across the district.
The order will come into force on February 8 and will remain effective for a period of 60 days.

According to the directive, the ban has been imposed in the interest of public safety and to prevent fire hazards, accidents and loss of life or property, particularly in crowded public places.
Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against violators under relevant provisions of law. Venue owners, event organisers and the general public have been urged to cooperate and comply with the order to ensure a safe environment for residents and tourists alike.
The administration said the move is aimed at enhancing safety standards and avoiding incidents linked to the use of pyrotechnics in enclosed and high-footfall areas.
