Tourist Police constable returns valuables worth 1.2 lakh at Calangute beach

Tourist Police Constable Sarvesh Mandrekar displayed commendable alertness while on routine patrolling duty at Calangute beach. During his patrol, he noticed an unattended bag lying on the sand and immediately took it into safe custody to prevent any misuse. Acting swiftly, he initiated efforts to trace the rightful owner and conducted necessary verification procedures. The bag was later handed over to a tourist from Mumbai after confirming ownership details.

The recovered bag contained a gold chain valued at around 1.2 lakh, 32,000 in cash, and important identification documents. Thanks to Mandrekar’s prompt response and sense of responsibility, the valuables were safely returned, preventing a significant financial loss for the tourist. His action once again highlighted the dedication of Goa’s Tourist Police in ensuring visitor safety.
