Crash Barriers to Be Installed After Autorickshaw Rolls into Trench at Assagao: MLA Delilah Lobo

An autorickshaw rolled into a roadside trench at Assagao, prompting authorities to deploy a crane to pull the vehicle out and raising fresh concerns over road safety along the stretch.

Following the incident, Delilah Lobo visited the site along with officials from the traffic cell, Assagao Sarpanch Hanumant Naik, a panchayat member, and officials from the Public Works Department (PWD) to assess the situation on the ground.

After inspecting the area, the MLA assured that crash barriers would be installed along the vulnerable stretch to prevent similar accidents in the future. She said the work will be taken up immediately.

Local residents have repeatedly highlighted the need for safety measures at the location, and the latest assurance is expected to bring some relief to commuters and villagers alike.

Authorities are also reviewing additional steps to improve road safety in the area.
