Goa student scores 99.82 in JEE Main session 1, aims for space science career

Tanay Ajit Prabhu from Ponda emerged as the Goa topper in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) Session 1 results announced by the National Testing Agency, securing an impressive score of 99.82. The achievement marks a significant academic milestone for the student, who now aims to crack the final stage of the examination and pursue engineering in the field of space science.

Tanay had earlier demonstrated academic excellence by scoring 97.5 percent in his Class X board examinations. He completed his schooling at GVM’s A J De Almeida High School and is currently studying in Class XII at Smt Nelly Joildo Aguiar Higher Secondary School. His father Ajit Prabhu works as an IT professional, while his mother Nandita Prabhu is a pharmacist, both of whom have played a key role in supporting his academic journey.

Across the country, approximately 13.6 lakh candidates appeared for Session 1 of the computer-based examination conducted at hundreds of centres nationwide. Final rankings will be prepared after considering the best score from both examination sessions, with NTA scores calculated through a normalised evaluation process based on relative performance across shifts.
