The Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) has approached the Bombay High Court seeking directions to authorities, including the South Goa Collector, to remove an allegedly illegal statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj erected on its property in Vasco city.
According to the petition, the statue has been installed on land falling under Chalta No. 42, P.T. Sheet No. 30, which the port authority claims as its property. MPA has contended that the installation was carried out without obtaining the necessary permissions from the competent authorities.
