Traffic movement near Patto Bridge remained heavily disrupted after authorities shut one lane on the New Patto Bridge, leading to long delays for commuters. Many motorists reported severe inconvenience and questioned the planning behind the partial closure.
Locals pointed to insufficient traffic police deployment, saying the lack of on-ground regulation worsened the congestion. During the afternoon peak period, some drivers were also seen flouting traffic norms while trying to change lanes, adding to the disorder.
The situation has drawn criticism from residents, who are calling for improved coordination and stronger traffic control measures to ease pressure on one of Panaji’s busiest entry routes.
