A complaint has been filed at Mapusa Police Station against Girish Chodankar for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. The complaint, submitted by Mr Siddharth Mandrekar, president of Swarajya Gomantak, claims that the sacred Maa Ganga Devi Aarti audio was used in a reel for political purposes in a manner deemed disrespectful to Hindu beliefs.
The complainant has urged police to register an FIR under Section 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and initiate strict legal action. Police officials have acknowledged receipt of the complaint, and further investigation into the matter is currently awaited.
