The casino at a resort in Arpora was sealed on Friday by the Bardez Deputy Collector following directions from the Collector of North Goa, Panaji, in compliance with an order issued by the Department of Home (General Secretariat, Porvorim) No 21/2/2022-HD(G)/464 dated February 17, 2026.
The land-based casino at the resort in Tambudki, Arpora, was allegedly being operated without proper permissions, according to the authorities. Police were present during the sealing operation, which was carried out at around 5pm.

The casino had terminated the services of its staff on February 5 and shut down the premises, triggering protests by employees hailing from various states. According to the staff, some of them have not been paid their salaries for the past three months. They further claimed that several food and beverage suppliers have also not received their dues.
Workers alleged that the operations manager, shut down the premises on the intervening night of February 4 and 5 and has been untraceable since then.
“The company running the casino would change every year because of which the PF dues would never be paid even though they were deducted. When we would make inquiries we would get no replies. This present company was there for almost a year and my PF is amounting to around Rs one lakh. Not only my salary but even that is now gone,” a staff member who was sacked said.
Staff members who had been provided accommodation were also asked to vacate their rooms as the rent had reportedly not been paid, they added.
