The Goa Police have cracked a two-month-old house burglary case in Pajifond, with officers from the Fatorda Police Station arresting three accused during a routine night patrol.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Shivam Verma, Dinesh Kumar, and Bipin Panwan, all natives of Uttar Pradesh. They are accused of stealing gold ornaments and cash collectively valued at approximately ₹9 lakh from the residence of a senior citizen.
Arrest During Night Patrol
According to police sources, the breakthrough came when Fatorda police personnel intercepted the suspects while conducting night patrolling in the area. Upon questioning and further verification, the trio was allegedly linked to the earlier housebreaking incident reported in Pajifond nearly two months ago.
Stolen Valuables and Ongoing Probe
Investigators said the accused had allegedly decamped with gold jewellery and cash from the victim’s home, triggering concerns about the safety of elderly residents living alone.
Police have stated that further investigation is underway to ascertain whether the accused were involved in other similar crimes. Efforts are also being made to recover the stolen property and determine if additional accomplices were part of the burglary.
Authorities have assured residents that intensified patrolling and surveillance measures will continue to prevent such incidents in the future.
