Goa’s Ethan Vaz Wins Silver at National U-17 Chess Championship, Qualifies for World and Asian Events

Goa’s rising chess talent Ethan Vaz delivered an impressive performance at the 2025–26 National Under-17 Open Chess Championship held in Ahmedabad, securing the silver medal with an unbeaten score of 9 out of 11.

The 14-year-old International Master showcased remarkable consistency throughout the tournament, finishing without a single loss. His achievement has earned him qualification for the upcoming 2026 World and Asian Youth chess events.
