₹7.36 Cr Investment Scam Busted in Goa; Multiple Accused Booked

Goa police have busted a massive ₹7.36 crore investment scam that allegedly defrauded several residents through fake cryptocurrency and online‑trading schemes. The Economic Offences Cell has registered a case based on a complaint by a resident of Bicholim, who, along with victims from Margao, Vasco, Verna, Ponda and Navelim, lost substantial sums after being lured by high‑return promises from entities such as Botbro, QFX Trade Ltd, Yorker Capital Markets, Botalpha, Crossmarkets and Minecryptos.

The prime accused, Lavish Choudhary alias Nawab Ali, originally from Uttar Pradesh and now based in Dubai, is alleged to have posed as the founder of these companies while co‑accused acted as local promoters to push the schemes. The case, being investigated by Inspector Ramesh N. Shirodkar, is registered under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Goa Protection of Interests of Depositors (GPID) Act and the Information Technology Act, with police urging additional victims to come forward to aid the probe.
