Residents termed the situation a serious example of negligence by the drinking water department, especially at a time when water levels in dams are declining and several villages across the region are already facing water shortages.

Locals have urged the concerned department to immediately undertake repair work to stop further leakage and prevent unnecessary wastage of the essential resource.

They also stressed the need for regular maintenance and timely action to avoid such incidents, particularly ahead of the peak summer and monsoon seasons when water management becomes critical.
