An Indian national was killed in an attack on Kuwait International Airport on Wednesday, the Indian Embassy in Kuwait confirmed, expressing deep condolences to the bereaved family. The embassy stated it is in close touch with the deceased’s family and coordinating closely with Kuwaiti authorities to provide all necessary assistance.
The casualty occurred after Iranian drones struck Kuwait’s main airport, severely damaging the passenger terminal building and prompting authorities to briefly suspend operations. Kuwaiti civil aviation authorities announced that Kuwait Airways flights had resumed from a different terminal than the one struck, though no other flights would be operating and commercial operations remained restricted.

Defence ministry spokesperson Brig. Gen. Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi confirmed that hostile drones targeted the airport’s passenger building, severely damaging the structure and injuring a number of individuals. Kuwait’s foreign ministry later verified that at least one person had been killed in the attack.
The airport had only reopened on Monday after being shut during the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. The attack came hours after the US military launched strikes on an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island in response to Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait and Bahrain.
