Gill currently leads India in both Tests and ODIs and is expected to play a central role in the team’s ambitions in the World Test Championship cycle and the 2027 ODI World Cup.The selectors are believed to be concerned about the possibility of burnout if Gill continues to play all three formats regularly. India is scheduled to play nine important World Test Championship matches and nearly 35 ODIs before the next ODI World Cup. Alongside these international commitments, Gill will also continue leading Gujarat Titans in the IPL, making workload management a top priority.While Gill’s IPL performances have been outstanding over the last two seasons, his T20I returns have been comparatively modest.
