The triumph also revived memories of the Indian men’s team’s memorable SAFF Cup victory in 1999 at the Nehru Stadium in Goa. On that occasion, India defeated Bangladesh 2-0, with goals from two of the country’s football legends, Bruno Coutinho and Baichung Bhutia.
