As part of the Environment Week celebrations, Vasco MLA Krishna V. Salkar participated in a sapling distribution drive organised by the BJP Vasco Mandal, reinforcing the message of environmental conservation and sustainable living.
During the programme, Salkar highlighted the significance of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative, encouraging citizens to plant at least one tree as a tribute to their mothers while contributing to a greener and healthier future.
The MLA stressed that protecting the environment is a collective responsibility and called upon people from all walks of life to actively participate in conservation efforts. He particularly appealed to the younger generation to take the lead in tree plantation drives and adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives.
Emphasising the need for community participation, Salkar said that small individual efforts can collectively make a significant impact in preserving the environment and ensuring sustainable development for future generations.
The sapling distribution drive formed part of the broader Environment Week activities aimed at raising awareness about ecological conservation and promoting a culture of environmental responsibility across the region.
