A 79-year-old scooter rider from St Cruz succumbed to his injuries after his two-wheeler was allegedly hit from behind by a four-wheeler near Matruchhaya Rugnashraya in St Cruz on the morning of June 11.
According to police, the accident occurred at around 8:30 am when the elderly rider was travelling through the area. Following the collision, he sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Goa Medical College (GMC) Hospital in Bambolim for treatment.

Despite medical efforts, the victim later died due to his injuries.
Old Goa Police have arrested the driver of the four-wheeler allegedly involved in the accident. The accused was subsequently released on bail after legal formalities.
A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation into the incident is underway.
