A bull that fell into a well near Alex Cardozo House at Kannaikwada in Morjim was successfully rescued on Saturday following a coordinated operation by the Pernem Fire Brigade and local residents.

The rescue operation lasted around 30 minutes, with firefighters using specialised techniques to safely lift the animal out of the well without causing any injuries.
The operation was led by Leading Firefighter Vikas Chavan and carried out with the assistance of firefighters Mites Mendonza, Sahadev Parab, Rajesh Parab, Indrakumar Parab and Rajat Naik.
Several local residents, including Avnish Shirodkar and Dominic D’Souza, also extended their support during the rescue operation, helping ensure the bull was brought to safety.
Speaking after the rescue, Leading Firefighter Vikas Chavan appreciated the teamwork between the fire service personnel and local volunteers, stating that the joint effort enabled the successful rescue of the animal within a short span of time. He also urged the public to promptly alert emergency services whenever animals or people are found trapped in dangerous situations, as timely intervention can save lives.
The rescued bull was safely brought out of the well and was reported to be in stable condition after the operation concluded.
