Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar has alleged that the newly announced “₹100-crore political party” is a BJP-backed initiative aimed at dividing the secular vote ahead of future elections in the state.
Addressing the media, Chodankar claimed that the new political outfit was being floated to weaken the opposition and benefit the BJP by fragmenting votes traditionally cast in favour of secular parties.

He maintained that the Congress remains united and committed to strengthening its organisation across Goa, dismissing suggestions of internal divisions within the party.
Chodankar further accused the BJP of encouraging the emergence of new political parties to divert public attention from issues of governance and avoid accountability for what he described as the government’s failures.
The Congress leader said the people of Goa are aware of such political strategies and expressed confidence that voters would not be misled by attempts to split the opposition vote.
