Congress leader Adv. Pratima Betsy Coutinho, along with Lincoln Gomes of the South Goa Congress, visited the Colva Police Station to press for measures aimed at safeguarding the interests of an elderly resident of Betalbatim following the recent assault case.
The delegation met PSI Prashant Bhagat on behalf of Maria D’Souza, a resident of Hounslow, United Kingdom, and daughter of Loyalo D’Souza.

According to the representation submitted to the police, the delegation requested that authorities ensure the removal of Loyalo D’Souza’s son, Isidorio Souza, and his wife, Theresa Gonsalves, from the elderly man’s residence within a month. The request follows their arrest and booking in connection with the alleged assault case involving the senior citizen.
The delegation further urged that Loyalo D’Souza be allowed to reside peacefully in his own house, with care and assistance provided by professional caregivers arranged by his daughter. They maintained that the property belongs to the elderly father and that appropriate steps should be taken to ensure his safety and well-being.
The visit comes amid an ongoing police investigation into the alleged assault of the senior citizen after a video of the incident surfaced on social media. Police are continuing their inquiry into the matter.
