Goa’s tribal organisations have resolved to jointly intensify their campaign for Scheduled Tribe (ST) reservation in the run-up to the 2027 Assembly elections, demanding that reservation be implemented on the basis of the 2011 Census.
The decision was taken during a meeting of tribal organisations, where leaders reaffirmed their commitment to securing adequate political representation for the Scheduled Tribe community in the state.

During the meeting, Prakash Velip was re-elected as president of the United Tribal Associations Alliance (UTAA). The organisation also resolved to spearhead the movement for the implementation of ST reservation, stating that it would intensify its campaign until the long-pending demand is fulfilled.
The tribal organisations reiterated that reservation should be implemented in accordance with the 2011 Census and urged the government to take the necessary steps before the 2027 Assembly elections.
