Addressing the media during the protest, Nadar accused the ruling BJP of neglecting the road even though the Cortalim MLA, the Sancoale Village Panchayat and the Cortalim Zilla Panchayat member are all represented by the party.

He alleged that no efforts have been made to undertake hotmixing or carry out repairs on the damaged stretch, causing inconvenience to motorists and local residents.

Nadar said the Congress has repeatedly raised the issue and staged protests demanding immediate repairs, but claimed that the authorities have failed to respond.

He further pointed out that the local Zilla Panchayat member and some panchayat members reside close to the road, yet have allegedly ignored the hardships faced daily by commuters and residents using the stretch.
