Goa is set to become the first state in the country to launch the ‘State Care’ programme, a doorstep healthcare initiative aimed at bringing essential medical services directly to people’s homes, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane announced.
The State Care programme will provide a range of home-based healthcare services, including physiotherapy, palliative care, geriatric care, stroke rehabilitation support, and transport facilities for patients undergoing dialysis and chemotherapy.

Speaking on the occasion, Rane said the initiative is designed to make quality healthcare more accessible, particularly for senior citizens, chronically ill patients and those with limited mobility.
The Health Minister also announced the induction of 19 new healthcare vehicles into the state’s medical services fleet, stating that the addition will significantly strengthen Goa’s emergency healthcare response and improve the delivery of medical services across the state.
He said the government remains committed to expanding key healthcare initiatives, including the STEMI programme, State Care, neonatal services and other doorstep healthcare services to ensure that timely medical assistance reaches every citizen.
Rane said the new initiatives reflect the government’s continued focus on strengthening Goa’s public healthcare infrastructure and improving access to quality medical care throughout the state.
