More than 2,000 devotees participated in a solemn early morning procession with the statue of Mother Mary at Pilar on Wednesday as Goa hosted the 12th Indian National Meet and 2nd Goa Marian Congress of the World Apostolate of Fatima (WAF).
The three-day event, being held from July 15 to 17 at the Pilar Pilgrim Centre, has brought together bishops, clergy, religious and pilgrims from across the country under the theme, “Learn, Live, and Share the Message of Fatima in a Synodal Church.” The congress aims to deepen the faithful’s commitment to prayer, penance and reparation in keeping with the message of Our Lady of Fatima.

A major highlight of the congress is the presence of the sacred relics of Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto, which have been brought for public veneration alongside the Indian National Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima.
The event is being attended by several bishops, including Auxiliary Bishop of Goa and Daman Bishop Simiao Fernandes, Bishop Fulgence Tigga of Raiganj, Bishop Francis Tirkey of Purnea and Bishop Fabian Toppo of Jalpaiguri.
The congress programme includes spiritual formation sessions, the Rosary Procession, the Crowning of Our Lady, the Investiture of the Brown Scapular, National Council elections and daily solemn Eucharistic celebrations.
Organisers have invited the faithful to participate in the remaining sessions of the congress and renew their devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary while embracing and sharing the message of Fatima in their parishes and communities.
