Iran has claimed responsibility for launching ballistic missiles and drones at US military aircraft stationed in Jordan, saying the attack was carried out in retaliation for overnight American airstrikes on multiple locations across the Islamic Republic. The strikes reportedly killed at least eight people.
The development comes amid rapidly escalating tensions in the Middle East. Earlier, Jordan’s military said it had intercepted and destroyed three Iranian missiles over its territory, adding that there were no casualties or damage resulting from the incident.

In a statement, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed its forces had destroyed several US aerial refuelling aircraft and fighter jets, while inflicting significant damage on several others. However, the claims have not been independently verified.
The IRGC also urged Jordanians to target what it described as the “interests of the aggressive and anti-Islamic Americans” within Jordan, further heightening concerns over a broader regional conflict.
The latest exchange marks a sharp escalation in hostilities between Iran and the United States, raising fears of further military confrontations across the Middle East.
