A political storm erupted in West Bengal on Saturday after authorities demolished the MP office of Trinamool Congress (TMC) National General Secretary and Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee in South 24 Parganas, alleging that the building had been constructed illegally.
The demolition began after bulldozers arrived at the office located on the Amtala–Baruipur Road in Amtala. Earlier, the administration had issued a notice claiming that the structure had been built without obtaining the required permissions. Acting on the notice, officials proceeded with the demolition on Saturday.

Security was significantly tightened around the site as police and administrative personnel were deployed in large numbers to maintain law and order. The demolition attracted a crowd of local residents and TMC supporters, who gathered near the premises as the operation progressed.
