Sanguem recorded the highest rainfall in Goa during the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 am on Monday, receiving 55.1 mm of rain, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre, Goa. Despite rainfall being reported from most parts of the state, the IMD classified the southwest monsoon activity as weak.
Canacona was the second wettest location with 22.2 mm of rainfall, followed by Quepem (20.2 mm), Dharbandora (18 mm) and Sankhali (14.2 mm). Moderate rainfall was also recorded in Mapusa (10 mm), Margao (9.1 mm), Ponda (5.8 mm), Pernem (5.4 mm) and Ela (Old Goa) (5.3 mm).
Among the coastal stations, Dabolim received the least rainfall at 1.8 mm, while Mormugao and Panaji recorded 2.6 mm and 3 mm respectively. Rainfall data for Valpoi was not available.
The cumulative monsoon figures since June 1 show that Canacona continues to be Goa’s wettest station with 1,324.2 mm of rainfall, followed closely by Sanguem (1,290.4 mm) and Dharbandora (1,264.4 mm). In contrast, Panaji has recorded the lowest seasonal rainfall among all reporting stations at 670.9 mm.
According to the IMD, rainfall was widespread across the state (most places) during the last 24 hours, indicating that showers continued across Goa even though overall monsoon activity remained subdued.

The latest IMD bulletin indicates that while rainfall was widespread across Goa, the most significant showers continued to be concentrated in the southern talukas, with Sanguem, Canacona, Quepem and Dharbandora leading both the daily and seasonal rainfall charts.
