John Abraham buys 100-year-old Bandra bungalow for Rs 84 crore

Actor John Abraham has reportedly purchased a nearly century-old bungalow in Mumbai’s upscale Bandra West for Rs 84 crore, further strengthening his reputation as one of Bollywood’s most active real-estate investors.

The property, located at 20 St Martin Road, was originally built in 1926 and belonged to the DeVitre family, a well-known Parsi household. The bungalow is situated on a quiet lane connecting Turner Road and Hill Road, two of Bandra’s most prominent commercial and residential stretches.

According to people familiar with the transaction, the house includes four bedrooms, a large hall, a garden with fruit-bearing trees and an outhouse. Despite its prime location, the property has retained a relatively understated exterior.

This is not Abraham’s first major property purchase in Mumbai. In December 2023, he acquired another bungalow on Linking Road in Khar for Rs 75 crore. The ground-plus-two-storey property, known as Nirmal Bhavan, is located in one of the city’s most expensive real-estate corridors.
