Senior BJP leader and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat has criticised the Congress leadership for staging protests outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in connection with the NEET examination controversy. Addressing a press conference, Kamat described the demonstration as an irresponsible political move that disrupted public order and undermined democratic values. He said the Centre had already expressed its willingness to discuss the issue in Parliament under any rule, but alleged that Congress leaders were deliberately avoiding a formal debate. Kamat further claimed that the Opposition was attempting to malign the government’s image through street protests instead of constructively addressing students’ concerns. He also praised Prime Minister Modi’s growing international stature, alleging that the protests were politically motivated rather than student-centric.
