Vijai Sardesai Backs Davondem Protest, Urges TCP Minister to Declare Area as No Development Zone

Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai has reaffirmed his support for residents opposing the proposed mega projects at Davondem, stating that he has already urged TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane to declare the affected plots as a No Development Zone (NDZ).

Sardesai said he had raised the issue during a meeting of the South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA), which was also attended by Margao MLA Digambar Kamat. According to him, protecting the area from large-scale development requires immediate intervention by the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department.

The Fatorda MLA appealed to Digambar Kamat and BJP leader Damu Naik to take up the matter with the TCP Minister, pointing out that both leaders share a close working relationship with Vishwajit Rane. He urged them to persuade the minister to issue an immediate notification declaring the Davondem plots as an NDZ, saying the move would help safeguard the locality from the proposed mega development projects.
