Yuva Forward Goa Protests Suspension of Electricity Staff in Xelpem Electrocution Case

Yuva Forward Goa State President Meshu D’Costa on Friday joined Electricity Department employees in staging a protest against the suspension of staff following the electrocution death of a labourer in Xelpem.

D’Costa alleged that several employees who had no direct involvement in the incident had been suspended without proper justification. He claimed that innocent staff members were being made scapegoats before the completion of a thorough investigation.

Demanding immediate intervention from the government, D’Costa called for the suspension orders against employees not connected to the accident to be revoked. He urged the authorities to conduct a fair and impartial inquiry to identify those actually responsible for the incident.

The protestors maintained that accountability should be fixed only after a comprehensive investigation and appealed to the government to ensure that no innocent employee is penalised for the tragic incident.
