In his representation, D’Souza highlighted the rapid population growth, expanding industrial activity, increasing traffic and the extensive jurisdiction handled by the Verna Police Station as factors adding to the workload of the police force.

He also pointed to the policing responsibilities of the Verna, Cortalim and Birla outposts, besides security requirements at the Verna and Sancoale Industrial Estates.

D’Souza has further urged the authorities to consider upgrading the Birla-Zuarinagar police outpost into a full-fledged police station to strengthen policing in the area.

He stressed that adequate manpower is essential for effective patrolling, quicker emergency response, crime prevention and ensuring public safety.
