An inspection was conducted of an allegedly illegal footpath near the Santa Cruz football ground in the presence of Public Works Department (PWD) officials, the Santa Cruz panchayat deputy sarpanch and complainant and panch member Dominic Pereira.
Pereira has demanded the demolition of the footpath, which he alleged was constructed at a cost of around ₹2.80 crore and violated High Court guidelines. He also sought recovery of the expenditure from the PWD, claiming the footpath is causing difficulties for motorists and could pose a road safety risk in the future.

According to the Secretary of the Santa Cruz Village Panchayat, the PWD will submit its report to the panchayat office by Monday. Based on the findings, the panchayat will take necessary action in the matter.
