PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party echoed all the lacuna of ruling BJP harping on Rural Development Minister Michael Lobo’s statement on Saturday said that ‘there are many places in Goa that are undeveloped’ and said poor condition in rural and sub-urban areas is only because of the mismanagement and misrule of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that’s in power since 2012.

“Actually Michael Lobo’s statement is mere eyewash to hoodwink the people because elections are nearing,” said AAP Goa Convener Rahul Mhambre pointing out that the assembly elections is due in 2022.

He further added that not only rural areas but even suburban areas like Mapusa have lot of problems with basic amenities and lamented that Mapusa does not even receive proper drinking water. “Roads are in a pitiable condition all over Goa and the government only promises of repairing them,” he said adding that ‘none of the roads have been repaired’.

He said no mobile connectivity and no electricity that Michael referred to is not only in rural areas but all over Goa and further pointed out that this is causing a major problem for students who have to attend online classes.

“The inept BJP government led by Dr Pramod Sawant has made the future of our children dark as they cannot even study properly to prepare for the challenges that life will throw at them,” said Rahul.

He said the BJP has now suddenly woken up because elections are round the corner and ‘making ridiculous statement’. Rahul cautioned that the people of Goa have realized the BJP’s game plan and will give them a befitting reply.
