Chief Minister Pramod Sawant emphasized Goa’s rural progress and women’s financial empowerment during an NSSF zonal workshop. He revealed that Goa boasts 3,538 self-help groups (SHGs) comprising 45,855 members who have accessed over ₹468 crore through bank linkages. Identifying women and farmers as primary drivers of rural development, Sawant noted key initiatives across agriculture, horticulture, dairy, floriculture, and fisheries. He stated such local efforts remain vital for achieving Viksit Bharat by 2047.
