Nepal has praised India for its swift assistance following devastating floods that have killed more than 600 people, with Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “exceptionally generous”. Wagle said India had flown special relief supplies to the flood-hit areas and indicated its willingness to provide substantial support for reconstruction. Since Wednesday, India has dispatched 57.6 tonnes of relief material to Nepal. An 11-member Indian team, including medical personnel and tunnel rescue experts, has also arrived in the country following a request from Kathmandu to assist local authorities with relief and rescue operations.
