Goa Forward Party president Vijai Sardesai has urged Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju to withhold assent to two Bills passed by the Goa Legislative Assembly on September 2.
Sardesai has raised concerns over provisions related to land acquisition safeguards and the conversion of industrial land into freehold property. He also questioned the extent of public scrutiny given to the Bills and pointed to what he described as drafting errors.
The GFP president has appealed to the Governor to examine the legislation carefully before granting assent, citing concerns over its potential implications for landowners, public interest and Goa’s land resources.
