Panaji: Goa is set for a major road infrastructure expansion, with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari announcing Centre-backed projects worth more than ₹4,000 crore.
Among the key proposals are the widening of the Mollem-Khandepar road stretch and the construction of a new bridge at Borim, with each project estimated to cost around ₹2,000 crore.

Gadkari also announced that the Centre has accepted Goa’s proposal for two additional national highway links — Balli to Betul ONGC and Karaswada to Sanquelim.
On the proposed Borim bridge, Gadkari said the project would move forward once Goa completes the necessary land acquisition and environmental clearances. Following the completion of these requirements, the Centre will proceed with funding for the project.
The announcements were made during the inauguration of the new Porvorim elevated corridor, marking a significant push for road connectivity and infrastructure development in Goa.
The proposed projects are expected to strengthen connectivity across key parts of the state and improve road infrastructure to meet growing traffic and transportation requirements.
