Panaji: Awaken Goans has raised 10 questions before the Goa Government and the Directorate of Education, seeking greater transparency and accountability on issues concerning the state’s education system.
The group has sought clarity on teacher promotions, financial losses faced by teachers, staff recruitment and post sanctioning, as well as the current vacancy position in schools across Goa.
Awaken Goans has also questioned the criteria and process followed for teacher transfers, while raising concerns over school audits and inspections and the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP).
The organisation has further called for an independent inquiry into allegations of corruption and misuse of public resources, stressing the need for transparency in the functioning of the education department.
Awaken Goans has demanded that the government conduct an independent, transparent and time-bound inquiry into the issues raised.
The group maintained that authorities should provide relevant documents and establish accountability rather than relying solely on assurances, calling for concrete action on the concerns raised.
