Goa Vikas Party (GVP) President Sarvesh Bandodkar has welcomed Goa Forward Party President Vijai Sardesai’s call for a third political front, saying it is encouraging to see regional political forces coming together around a common vision of putting Goa and Goans first.
Bandodkar said the “Goa First” initiative was launched by the GVP with the objective of connecting and empowering Goenkars while creating greater access to employment, government schemes, entrepreneurship and business opportunities.
He said the party was willing to support political parties and individuals who share the same vision, stressing that the initiative was not about claiming political credit but about working towards Goa’s interests.
“Goa First is an initiative GVP started with the belief that Goa and Goans must come before political interests. If other parties are now coming together with the same thinking, we welcome it,” Bandodkar said.
He added that goafirst.in is being developed as a Goa First Helpdesk, aimed at helping people across all 40 constituencies identify and access government schemes, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship support and business avenues.
“Our agenda is simple: Goa First, Goans First. Discussions with like-minded regional and national parties are already underway,” Bandodkar said.
The GVP leader said the party would continue engaging with political forces that share its vision, as discussions on a broader political alignment take shape ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.
