Truck Falls Off Road at Sharp Turn in Tuem, Villagers Demand Retaining Wall

Tuem: A goods vehicle reportedly veered off the road and fell at a sharp turn in Gaonkar Wada, Tuem, during the midnight hours, raising fresh concerns over road safety at the accident-prone stretch.

The incident has prompted local residents to once again call for immediate safety measures at the spot. Villagers have urged the local MLA and concerned authorities to construct a retaining wall along the roadside to prevent vehicles from going off the road.

According to residents, the sharp turn has witnessed several accidents over the past year. They claimed that one such accident had also resulted in the death of a driver.

Villagers said the absence of adequate protective measures at the location poses a continuing risk to motorists, particularly while negotiating the sharp turn at night.

They have appealed to the authorities to inspect the stretch and take urgent corrective measures, including construction of a retaining wall, to prevent similar accidents in the future.
