Look at the pathetic state of this disgraced, abandoned and uncared creek for years together when other creeks are being cleaned and taken care of. The stretches of the Creek are just near the Government Septic Treatment planned, consisting 1) relative PWD works Div. III 2nd office of Chief of Chemist 3rd PHE Laboratory and the office of the Assistant Engineering.
The creek exists for years together where thousands of people pass by daily through and fro in between St Inez to Tonca-Caranzalem road crossing a line of Govt. residential government quarters. It is seen whilst coming to St. Inez, Panjim passing by the curve at Tonca which is in a dilapidated and in dangerous state where the creek is in a total mess, mixed up by different diameter in sizes of pipes, sanitary and pure drinking water pipes close to each other pressed through and through inside the land.
During heavy rainy season the water overflows gushing from Camara Bhat flowing down slowly to its connecting creek at Campal till it is released into the sea. To this effect, Town and Country Planning Minister may use his good offices. A special appeal goes to the PWD to come to the rescue of the people residing around and concerned authorities to take immediate steps to cover up these exposed pipes and build a strong bridge over it making it a two-way passage for the motorists and passers-by before the onset of monsoons.
Forget about cleaning the debris and the garbage flowing in the Creek. The CCP tried its best to get it cleaned up with the poor mayor himself experiencing the stench some time back. Everyone passes the buck when it comes to cleaning the Creek, but the dignitaries will not hesitate to attend functions and opening of shops, hotels around it. We better have good governance than seeing dignitaries and elected representatives in smart suits. The mayor has set an example by checking the cleaning machine himself although his trip ended in a disaster. People appreciate effective leaders than the arm-chair ministers.
