VASCO: A 22-year-old pedestrian died, after he was knocked down by a twenty-year-old scooterist in an accident that occurred at IDC Verna on Friday.
According to the Verna police the incident was reported at about 9 am, when the rider of Aviator scooter Darlington Rodrigues, a resident of Ponda dashed his scooter against a pedestrian Rana Ganguli, who was crossing the road.
The scooterist then hit a truck that was parked alongside. The pedestrian was rushed to Hospicio hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. The scooterist was later arrested by the Verna police.
