VASCO: The Dabolim International Airport saw a huge rise in charter flights as well as regular passenger footfall this season as compared to the previous Covid-19 pandemic marred tourist seasons.
Goa Airport Director Dhananjaya Rao, on Tuesday, informed that the number of chartered flights increased to 348 this tourist season from 39 charter flights last year. The chartered flights brought in footfall of 1.40 lakh international charter tourist, as compared to 14,000-odd charter tourists in the previous year.

For the financial year 2022-23, nearly 8.35 million passengers travelled via the Dabolim Airport, This again was a substantial rise in footfalls which stood at 5.4 million passengers during pre-Covid time.
“The season was very good. We expect more traffic this year and more Charters coming as there are no restrictions,” Rao said.
