PANJIM: As the Inquiry Committee found truth in the allegations of favoritism and rigging in the BA LLB entrance test, the Goa University on Tuesday declared the examination and subsequent admission process as “null and void”.
Goa University registrar VS Nadkarni in a notification issued on Tuesday has said that the admissions granted to the candidates based on Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) stands withdrawn and that a fresh re-test will be conducted.

Margao-based G R Kare Law College Principal Saba D’Silva was in the middle of allegations after students accused him of changing entrance exam norms for admissions to the BA LLB programme at the eleventh hour to favour his son. Based on the allegations, Varisty had initiated inquiry.
“The Executive Council of the Goa University, based on the recommendations of the Fact finding High-level Committee constituted to probe into the allegations of malpractice in the GCLAT 2023, has resolved to treat the G-CLAT held on 8 June 2023 and the subsequent admission process for the BALLB. Programme for the AY 2023-24 Null and Void,” the notification stated.
The concerned colleges are being informed to immediately suspend classes for the First Year of BA LLB programme. The Goa University will conduct a re-test, Goa University – Common Law Admission Test (GU-CLAT) 2023 for admissions to the BALLB. Programme for the Academic Year 2023-24 on August 8.
The University assured that the candidates admitted earlier to the BALLB Programme based on the Test conducted on 8 June 2023 but fail to secure a seat after the re-test shall be offered admission to any UG General Education Programme offered at an affiliated college of their choice. The GU said that the candidates are not required to re-apply for the GU-CLAT 2023 or pay any additional fees.
