BICHOLIM: A section of farmers, especially from Karpal in Latambarcem, Bicholim are dejected as no water has been provided to them for the past few days.
It is pertinent to note that Tillari water is supplied to many farmers from Sal, Kasarpal, Karpal and surrounding areas. Many farmers are totally dependent on the same.
Karpal farmers are upset as they have not been supplied water for the past few days.
“We feel neglected and have lost our crop as Tillari water was not supplied to us. Earlier, we used to get water but since the last 15 days no water was supplied to us and the crop is totally destroyed,” Kashinath Gawas complained.
The farmers have now demanded that they be compensated.
“The crops are already damaged and now we want compensation from the government,” Gawas demanded.
